Learn Ealing continues to deliver courses face-to-face and through its online offer. We will deliver lessons and support learners through the use of Google Education suite, Zoom, Skype and other digital platforms.

To participate in online classes you will need an email address, a reliable internet connection, a computer/laptop/tablet/mobile phone with fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome).  Your device will need a microphone and preferably a camera.

Description

Discover the transformative power of mindfulness through the art of drawing. Discover how focusing on a drawing or artwork takes you away from all other concerns. Whether you are an aspiring artist or a curious individual seeking some peace and respite this course will allow you find your creative spirit and discover a new way to relax.  

Aims of the course
- Discover drawing as a form of relaxation. - Develop drawing skills through shape and awareness of breathing. - Produce at least one drawing featuring line, shape and tone - To learn how to draw with different pencil grades for light and dark tones. - To make artwork as a way to manage anxiety and depression.

What you will learn on this course
- Create a couple of drawings featuring shape and tone as a way to develop skills to make a simple still life and landscape. - Appreciate and comment on art pieces and those of your peers with compassion and appreciation - Breathe effectively for better focus and health - Draw a couple of subjects, e.g. Shape awareness for still life and landscape

Through observation, presentation, practical work, tutor’s support and guidance and tutor and peer feedback

Assessment method
This course is non-accredited but your work will be assessed every session and you will receive positive encouragement with a scope of returning for more art classes.

How much additional time do you need?
Doing art outside the class is encouraged but not compulsory.
